Boyer Mountain on Blue Grouse Mountain

In 1925, a log cabin and platform observation tower were developed on the south end of the summit.

In 1929, a cupola cabin was constructed on the north end of the summit.

In 1930, the lookout was Ernest Hart.

In 1937, a 72 foot timber tower with L-6 cab, along with frame cabin living quarters were built on the south summit. A Model No. 4 Osborne Fire Finder was purchased for the tower.

In 1938, the tower received two-way radio equipment.

In 1960, the Spokane Daily Chronicle reported that the lookout on Boyer mountain would not be manned that year and the money for its operation would be utilized for additional plane patrol after lightning storms.

In 1975, the tower was toppled by vandals and never replaced.
