Old San Juan
Any visit to Puerto Rico must include time in Old San Juan. Colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, imposing forts, hundreds of restored colorful 16th and 17th century Spanish colonial buildings make Old San Juan an incredible place to walk around. Old San Juan is the second oldest city in the Americas, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like the old cities in Europe, you can walk street after street enjoying the shops, restaurants, and pocket parks and they just keep going as far as you can see. Then add a waterfront boardwalk on the bay side and a high fort guarding the ocean at the other end and you have one of the most interesting concentrations of sights anywhere. There is a free trolley that circulates throughout the area and you can hop on and off at will. These images were taken while sightseeing during the San Sebastian street festival.
