Distance: 2 miles one-way (once you hike or 4WD there)
Cyclone Canyon
As a hiking destination, Cyclone Canyon is a fair distance away from the trailheads most hikers start at. As a consequence, you'll likely find yourself all alone on this extremely scenic 2 mile trek. Given the overgrown nature of the trail, few must venture into Cyclone Canyon. The trail is actually a recovering 4WD road that was closed years ago after it was determined the road was causing serious damage. The north end is often passed through by hikers and vehicles going to the Confluence Overlook Trail. The south end of Cyclone Canyon is passed through by those going to the Colorado River via the Lower Red Lake Trail. So the two miles between these trails is fairly unvisited. Also, the far south end of the canyon near Butler Wash would be an excellent place to find some solitude and dramatic scenery. The old road continues that way but is not signed or noticeable while at the junction.
