Lost Lake Cross Country Ski Trails
The easiest place to cross country ski and snowshoe in Whistler is the Lost Lake Cross Country Trail System. Just a short walk from Whistler Village, you can go to the PassivHaus to rent skies or snowshoes. It is a perfect place for beginners. The trail system feels like the backcountry but with all the people and some amenities on the trail, it is more like skiing in the city. You can even take lessons, although it really only takes getting out there on your own to learn. The simplest route to take is to ski to Lost Lake, loop around it, and visit the warming hut. The park has 30 km of groomed and track-set trails and 4 km of night lit trails going around Lost Lake. Trails open in December dependent upon snow conditions. Hours of operation are around 8 am to 8 pm, seven days-a-week.
