Living Desert Zoo and Garden - Palm Springs California

Every large city has a zoo, don't miss out on this unique zoo and garden featuring the unique challenges desert animals face, including the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert and other deserts around the world. The Giraffe exhibit and feeding station is world class, feels like you are in Africa. There are 75 botanical gardens featuring all the trees and shrubs found in the region and other harsh condition climates throughout the world. Over 1,400 different species of plants are represented, mostly from North America and Africa. For kids, there is a Discovery Center, the daily Wildlife Wonders Show and a petting kraal. The show is in the Tennity Amphitheater where they discover reptiles, birds and mammals and learn about their interesting adaptations. Unique to the zoo is the wildlife hospital where you can learn or even watch how animals are taken care of.
