If you are looking for some good views of the Fraser Valley and its surrounding peaks, a drive up the Mount Woodside Forest Service Road is a nice excursion. The road is best with trucks and SUVs but I wouldn't be surprised if a passenger car or two has pushed its way up this road. A highlight is getting to the launch point where the hang-gliders and paragliders launch. This requires a high clearance 4WD to reach but you could park along the Forest Service Road and walk the spur road to the launch site. There are a few small lakes not too far off the road and its likely trails reach these lakes. The Mount Woodside Road continues well past the launch site spur to some great views south to the Cheam Range, the Fraser Valley and even a few peaks in Washington like Mt. Baker and Tomyhoi Peak.

Access to Mount Woodside Forest Service Road and Launch

(13 km) 8 miles west of Agassiz on Hwy 7. The Mt. Woodside Forest Service Road entrance is opposite of the Koffee Kettle Cafe on Highway 7 (look for the break in the center lane of the highway). Follow Mt. Woodside Forest Service Road 4.2 km (2.6 miles), then take the left fork in the road. Park at the first available spot if you don't have 4 wheel drive. Hike/drive 250 meters (275 yards) to the launch.
